2015 Ford Territory Breaks Cover, Looks the Same as the Outgoing Model

Expectations were high with the last ever Ford Territory built in Australia, but the swan song model is nowhere near what potential buyers were waiting for. Even when you compare the updated Territory to recently unveiled Falcon XR8, it's easy to see that Ford Australia hasn't been on top of its game...
As you can see from the only revealing photo available at the moment, the 2015 Ford Territory isn't much to talk about. Visual changes are as subtle as it gets, the main changes including a more airy front grille shaped as a hexagon, inspired by the one which debuted on the EcoSport crossover. The slim upper grille from yesteryear now has a single horizontal chrome bar instead of two, while the fog lights also sport a new design, looking pretty Hyundai-esque to our eyes.

At the rear we don't expect any changes whatsoever according to a leaked picture we seen a few weeks ago, while the inside might have been embellished with a few visual tweaks here and there. Nothing's official in terms of mechanicals at the moment, but we have a sneaking suspicion that nothing has changed under the skin of the crossover SUV. Just like before, the 2015 Ford Territory will most likely use the Land Rover-sourced 2.7-liter V6 turbo diesel as well as the locally built 4-liter inline six-pot.

Available with either RWD or AWD, the Territory's carry-over engines are certain to get minor efficiency gains. Due to the minor visual changes and no proper modifications to the mechanical guts, the 2015 Ford Territory will measure the same 4.8 meters in length, 1.9-meter width and 1.7-meter height. The new model will be offered with the same trims (TX, TS, Titanium) and five or seven seats configurations.
