The completely redesigned 2015 Ford Mustang was leaked yesterday after the December issue of the Autoweek magazine reached its first American subscribers. Besides showing the new pony, the magazine also revealed some of the details we've all been expecting for quite a while.
First of all, the article confirms some information we knew for months - the sixth-generation model will be the first Mustang to get an independent rear suspension and the availability of a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. The new four-potter should will deliver 305 to 315 HP and 300 to 310 pound-feet of torque, according to Chris Doane.

Secondly, Ford will offer a Performance Pack for both the 5.0-liter GT and the 2.3-liter version. The option will add larger brakes (15-inch for the former and 14-inch for the latter), a Torsen limited-slip differential with 3.55 gears and response-tuned bushings. The Performance Pack will make the 2015 Mustang GT faster than the 2013 Boss 302 on the track, Ford claims. That can't be bad, right?

Moving over to dimensions, the 2015 Mustang is similar in length with the fifth-gen pony, but it's lower and a bit wider. As we've previously mentioned, the new Mustang went on a diet, including aluminum front fenders, to drop 200 pounds (90 kg).

More details will become available as the new pony car is revealed on December 6 in the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia. Don't forget to check in for updates.
