2015 Ford Mustang Design Prototype Model Leaked

It's been almost a year since speculative renderings about the way the all-new, restyled 2015 Ford Mustang is going to look like started to surface the web. All of them were based on the Evos Concept, and, starting today, we might say that this hypothesis has been confirmed.

Not by Ford, who did their best to keep everything 2015 Mustang related away from us, but by the guys over at the Mustang6G forum. They somehow managed to get a hold of pictures showing a few clay design models, including one that appears to be a next-generation Mustang work in progress. The shots were taken in the Blue Oval's design studio, the source claims.

While these photos seem pretty legit, we really think Ford might have something to do with the "leak", but that really doesn't matter now. All that matters is than we can have the first clear glimpse of what the next-gen "less retro and more futuristic" Mustang will look like.

First of all, the Evos Concept cues are quite obvious, and, as we can see from that background poster, the Evos design might very well be seen in some other future Ford vehicles as well. Quelle surprise, huh? Secondly, and probably most important for Mustang enthusiasts, the clay prototype shows a sloping roofline similar to the one seen on the Mustang Mach 1 Fastback, introduced back in 1969. Looks like Ford still has some of that "classic" left for the Mustang...

It's hard to try and make more of this clay model, but at least we have something to chew on. What do you think? Will this mold become the next Ford Mustang? If so, is it a worthy successor for the musclecar in terms of design?

By the way, in one of the pictures you'll notice another clay model that appears to be a three-door Focus study.

We'll get back to you as soon as we find out more about this.
