It’s a given that the 21st century saw carmakers expand manufacturing duties from a local level to a global venture. Ford Motor Company is no stranger to this practice, as both the 2015 Ford Ranger facelift and its 7-seater SUV cousin are both assembled in the city of Rayong, Thailand.
Located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Rayong is a melting pot of all things related to the chemical and automotive industry. Ford erected a factory here in 2012 to expand its presence in the ASEAN market. However, the automotive industry and global strategies don’t interest us right now...

... because the 2015 Ford Everest does. What you can admire in the photo gallery below is basically a family-oriented transition from the Ranger facelift to a crossover SUV that can seat up to 7 passengers. The Blue Oval refers to it as a “premium SUV” that boasts with a “premium interior.” But premium isn’t the right word to describe a body-on-frame SUV, you know.

So you get SYNC 2 touchscreen infotainment, as well as other amenities such as Active Park Assist and a Terrain Management System for more off-road prowess. But then again, if this mid-size SUV is marketed as a premium product, what’s the all-new Ford Edge then? A luxury CUV? What about the Lincoln MKX?

Nevertheless, the 2015 Ford Everest is a fair bit of mud-capable kit that can also be used to do the school run. Thanks to a choice of 2.2 to 3.2-liter oil burners, packing up to 200 bhp (197 all-American ponies) and 470 Nm (346 lb-ft) of torque, the 2015 Everest is low on fuel consumption and potent too.

Unfortunately, FoMoCo isn’t planning on importing it to the United States as a budget alternative to the $28,100 2015 Ford Edge. Boo and hiss! If you want to learn all there is to know about the all-new Everest, please refer to the press release below.
