Oh my, is Dodge making the most powerful sedan in the world? That's what the CPCG1_15CHSRT SAE standard is telling us. More specifically, the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will get the same 6.2-liter supercharged V8 as the Challenger. Furthermore, two standards have been uploaded to standards.sae.org, hinting that the 2015 Dodge Viper SRT gets 645 hp.
Now that's some Mopar news we love! According to the SAE J1349 database, standards CPCG1_15VIPER & CPCG2_15VIPER hint that the 2015 model year Viper will get 5 more ponies compared to the slow-selling 2014 MY, while torque stays put at 600 lb-ft (813 Nm). That's not enough to give the Challenger Hellcat a beating, but still, the Viper is way lighter than the two-door pony. Also, the 2015 Dodge Viper SRT boasts 0.8 percent better power-to-weight ratio.

The SAE output of what's to become the world's most powerful sedan in the world, just as we highlighted in a previous article, will be a hellish 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of tire shredding torque. Yup, the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will be more powerful than big boys such as the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG, BMW M5 30 Jahre Edition and the Bentley Flying Spur, among other first-rate nameplates.

Can you imagine that in a few months' time you'll be able to walk into a Dodge showroom and place a deposit on a four-door sedan that shames exquisite machines costing well over $100k or $200k? That's just mad and that's why we love what the reborn SRT brand has been cooking up lately. But there'll be a little problem with doing that... A Chrysler Group development employee has told that the $60,990 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat production is limited to 1,200 units, so it's only natural to presume that its four-door sibling will get the same exclusive treatment. Boo and hiss!

Let's hope that the Charger SRT Hellcat will bear an MSRP similar to the Challenger. Although it'll be some 200 pounds (90 kilos) heavier than the Challenger SRT Hellcat, we're keeping our fingers crossed the Charger SRT Hellcat will get the same six-speed manual and eight-speed auto available on the Challenger.
