2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Drag Races C6 Corvette Z06 with a Twist

We’ve seen tons of videos of the Hellcat monsters battling it out with just-as-supercharged Corvette Z06 machines. Still, most of those were Challenger Hellcats, while the ‘Vettes belonged to the C7 generation. Well, we’re back on the topic to give you a twist on the story.

We’re talking about a Charger Hellcat this time and as for the Corvette Z06, this is a C6 model, which means we are dealing with natural aspiration here. The two ran a drag race during the recent Texas Speed Syndicate - Quick 30 event and the result was rather interesting.

The battle was captured in the footage below, whose description mentions both cars are stock. In theory, this means the Charger Hellcat should play the quarter mile game somewhere in between 11 and 12 seconds, depending on the surface and driver input, while the C6 Z06 plays in the same league.

The pair of American motoring icons we’re discussing here didn’t play the usual quarter mile game and yet the info above should be sufficient as a clue.

We won’t go into the details of the race here, as you can see them in the clip, but we can’t end without asking ourselves if that Corvette is stock or not. As for the Charger driver, the man seems to be fine with the hefty mass of his vehicle, even accepting a passenger during the race.

Regardless, the combined soundtrack of the two V8s has to be the best duet we’ve heard this month, so we’re inviting you to turn up the volume for this piece.
