Following the introduction of the 2015 Dodge Charger earlier this year, it was only a matter of time before its sister car, the Chrysler 300, received some updates of its own, and that time is rapidly approaching. The 2015 Chrysler 300 will be unveiled in November at the 2014 Los Angeles International Auto Show with sales commencing early next year.
Although there are no details or images for the 2015 Chrysler 300, Chrysler promises that the sedan will be “thoroughly refreshed,” and recent spy photos back this up by showing that Chrysler doesn’t plan on messing with the distinctive styling of this sedan. Up front, changes seem to be limited to the headlights and fascia, and while it looks like the 300 will get a similar headlights design as its smaller 200 counterpart, it will certainly retain its vertical, oversized grille. The rear styling of the 2015 Chrysler 300 will continue to feature vertically oriented LED taillights, but a new lower fascia adds a more upscale look with trapezoidal dual exhaust outlets integrated into the body work.

Inside, changes should be similar to the 2015 Dodge Charger, which were mostly limited to the instrument panel and center console. The car captured in the aforementioned spy shots wore heavy cloaking to these areas, but a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel and center stack are obvious.

One area that the 2015 Chrysler 300 changes might not be for the better is the powertrain options. Sure, the addition of the eight-speed automatic should allow the base 3.6-liter V-6 improve to 31 mpg in highway driving, but the 2014 model year is expected to be the end of the line for the mean and menacing 300 SRT. That being said, the 5.7-liter Hemi V-6 will be sticking around, and who knows, maybe Chrysler will see fit to install the 6.4-liter Hemi in a non-SRT application in a similar fashion as the 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Skat Pack.

The Chrysler 300 has been a popular model for Chrysler since the sedan was introduced in 2005, and an update in 2011 helped maintain the car’s popularity. Since 2009, Chrysler says that sales of the 300 are up 50 percent, and this car owns more than 10 percent of the full-size car market. After its introduction in November, the 2015 Chrysler 300 will begin rolling out of the Brampton, Ontario assembly plant and into dealership showrooms during the first quarter of 2015.
