2015 BMW C600 Sport and C650GT Special Edition Maxi Scooters Available from Spring 2015

BMW has revealed the new 2015 model year special-edition maxi scooters, two units which will replace the existing models and which will become available from spring 2015. For the next season, BMW opted for the C600 Sports and C650GT machines, which will receive special liveries and optional accessories created to make them stand from the crowd.

The 2015 C600 Sport will be offered with a Racing blue metallic matte/ Sapphire black metallic livery, a sports seat and an Akrapovic silencer designed especially for it. Since there were no special things mentioned about the C600 Sport on the tech side, BMW will most likely retain the specs of the base model. This means a 60 hp maximum power at 7,500 revs, with 66 Nm (48.6 lb-ft) at 6,000 rpm, with the 647cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine mated to a centrifugal clutch, automatic transmission.

A steel-aluminium frame rolls on 15”cast wheels, with a 40mm inverted fork and a single-sided swingarm, with three 270mm ABS-equipped rotors providing plenty of stopping power, which is reassuring as the top speed of the C600 Sport is 175 km/h (109 mph). No price was announced at the time of writing.

The GT platform introduces luxury feats

The other special edition maxi scooter BMW rolls out in 2015 is the C650GT, based on the same platform but telling a completely different story. The GT accentuates styling and elegance, and is in fact one of the best-looking machines in its class. The 2015 model year will arrive in an Ebony metallic/ Monolith metallic matt livery, complemented by the Highline optional package.

The 2015 BMW C650GT Special Edition will sport LED daytime running lights, heated seats for both rider and passenger heated grips and a RDC tire pressure monitoring system. The tech specs are almost identical to those of the C600 Sport, but the GT is a little heavier, tipping the scales at 261 kg wet (576 lb) compared to the 249 kg (549 lb) of the former.
