First revealed in the Summer of 2011, the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class is nearing the date for it upcoming mid-cycle refresh, with the model's facelift expected to be launched at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
After the first generation of the model was manufactured for just a tad over six years and having received a facelift about four years into production, it's only natural that the current W246 generation is about to experience the same thing.
Last week we showed you a B-Class W246 facelift being tested alongside the current model, making everyone think that Mercedes-Benz is pretty careful at what areas of the model need to be addressed on the refreshed car.
This time, one of the spy photographers which send us all the latest scoops caught a camouflaged B-Class facelift right as it was exiting the Mercedes-Benz test center in Sindelfingen.
Like all the other prototypes spied before, it's wearing quite a decent amount of camouflage, managing to keep all the major exterior differences away from prying eyes.
Despite this, we know for sure that the front end will receive a pretty ample restyle, with the headlights getting the “engine grille hugging” treatment, while the lower part of the front apron will be redesigned as well. Speaking of engine grille, it is not very evident in the images below, but it will sport a slightly more upright positioning for reasons related to EU pedestrian crash laws.
The rear will get a new bumper, while the taillights will keep their original shape, with just their interior getting a mild redesign. Expect the Mercedes-Benz B-Class W246 facelift to be revealed sometime this Summer, with the public launch to take place in the Fall, in Paris.
