The next-generation Audi R8 supercar, which is rumored to arrive in 2015, has been rendered for the very first time by transportation designer Sebastian Kunz.
Based on the company’s Nanuk concept, shown at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this month, the renderings show an evolutionary design with a massive front grille, LED headlights and large air intakes.
Little is known about the second-generation Audi R8, but recent reports claim the supercar will share parts with Lamborghini’s Gallardo replacement and use a modular space frame and a number of lightweight components. The new iteration will be 30mm longer but lighter at the same time, thanks to its new carbon fiber and aluminum tub which will weigh only 198 kg (436.5 lbs).
The range-topping model will be powered by an updated V10 powerplant, but word has it the base model will sport a smaller, more efficient engine.
