We could say that Volvo keeps making the same cars for years, but we'd be hiding the fact that we actually love this one quite a bit. It's an update for the V60 mid-size estate for the 2015 model year and has made its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show today, Swedish number plates, R-Design kit and new engine included.
The 2015 V60 has everything you'd ever want in a car now. It comes with the City Safety system, Park Assist Pilot, Lane Keeping Aid, pedestrian and cyclist detection and more.
The V60 R-Design features a unique face with a redesigned, dynamic, expressive nose. We also love the all-new 19-inch wheels on this car and the twin tailpipes round the back.
But by far the coolest features is the all-new T6 engine. While Mercedes's GLK 350 requires a 3.5-liter V6 to give you about 300 hp, Volvo has something much better: a twin-charged 2-liter engine.
Both a supercharger and a turbocharger have been fitted for optimal forced induction. "Using the supercharger to fill in the bottom end gives the engine a big, naturally aspirated feel. The mechanically linked compressor starts to function immediately at low revs, while the turbocharger kicks in when the airflow builds up. Fuel consumption with new 8-speed automatic is 6.7 l/100 km (157 g/km) in the V60," Volvo says.
We say: Good job Volvo, just what you guys needed!
