Toyota’s Corolla has been compared to a washing machine: simple, reliable, but not something that stirs any sort of emotion. This is true despite the fact that it’s the best seller out of all the mods they offer on the global market.
Company insiders have told Ward’s Auto that the next generation Corolla is going to hit the US next year, and that it will be making a dramatic shift in terms of styling.

According to Bill Fay, general manager for the Toyota and Scion brands in the US, “some (within Toyota) have said it is an even more dramatic change" than the Avalon.

The current generation dates back to 2007. Despite this, deliveries in 2012 through June have been increased 11 percent over last year.

The Corolla will be underpinned by a new global front-wheel drive platform that will also be used by the European Corolla hatchback and the Auris.
