Having earned a Top Safety+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) back in May, the 2014 Subaru Forester has just received a similar rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The crossover SUV scored four-star ratings in frontal and rollover crash tests, just like the previous model, but achieved a full five-star in the side-impact test. Scroll below to watch the frontal impact crash test carried over by the NHTSA.
As a reminder, the 2014 Subaru Forester will go on sale in the United States from $21,995, not including the $825 destination fee. The new vehicle can be had with either a naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter box engine (170 HP) or a turbocharged 2.0-liter unit (250 HP).
