The cars Czech carmaker Skoda sells are 100% oriented towards offering great value. While they've improved design significantly, the core Skoda brand remains the same. That could all change next year when a Czech version of the Volkswagen CC comes out.
Autoexpress says a four-door version of the Octavia will come out at next year's Geneva Motor Show. The auto industry is filled with false rumors and we're still waiting for another source to confirm this. However, it would be intreresting to see such a car entering production.
The Octavia CC would reportedly be based on the same MQB platform as the regular Octavia and the VW Passat and will have a wheelbase of 2,686mm.
This would be just one element of a larger growth strategy for Skoda, who also plan a new Fabia generation, a seven-seater SUV for 2016 and other new models.
Since 2014 Geneva Show is 4 months away, a rendering will have to do. X-Tomi Design's four-door combines Octavia and CC design elements. Large wheels from the vRS, a sloping roof and crisp lines – this would make a really great affordable yet cool car. With Volkswagen CCs going for well over €40,000 an alternative would be welcomed, even if it's from the same group.
