2014 Porsche 911 Turbo Does a Quick-ish Quarter Mile

Want proof that the new 991 Porsche 911 Turbo is a fast car? Look no further than the latest drag race clip coming your way from Florida. Perhaps the most compelling case for all-wheel drive supercars, the new generation of flat-six turbo tire shredder went up against a couple of unworthy competitors, a Pontiac GTO and a Cayman S.

The 520 hp Turbo is a fast car, easily taking out the two rivals. But even the Porsche fans will have to admit the 11-second time isn't groundbreaking, not when you consider the guy spent upward of $150,000 here. And while you can make the case for all-weather usability, this is Florida, so being bogged down by snow is unlikely.

What traction advantage we think the 911 Turbo has off the line is clearly not there when the traction control is turned off. What's more, we've found videos of the McLaren MP4-12C posting a 10.69s time and a Jaguar F-Type V8 S posting a 11.98 seconds on the very same track.
