2014 Polaris Sportsman XP 850 HO EPS Brags on Its 77 HP

Power, power and then some more power, all with precise handling and in perfect control. This could be the definition of Polaris' new Sportsman XP 850 HO EPS, a big-bore machine which seems pretty unstoppable.

The 4-stroke SOHC twin packs 850cc, is fuel injected and liquid-cooled and can deliver a staggering 77 horsepower, being one of the industry's most potent power unit. An automatic dual-ratio gearbox makes operation easy and smooth, while the Active Descent Control and engine braking help tackling steep hills and other difficult types of terrain safer.

The electronic power steering was also updated and it now offer 30% easier operation. Together with the smart geometry of the steering ensemble, the 2014 Polaris Sportsman XP 850 HO EPS also comes with less kickback and provides a smoother ride through the day.

Independent long-travel suspensions and 11.5" (29.21 cm) of clearance allow this quad to pass over with ease, especially as the AWD engages automatically when needed.

Onboard storage is easy to expand with Lock & Ride rack accessories and the 2014 Sportsman XP 850 HO EPS can haul up to 360 lbs (165 kg) of luggage, with an 1500 lbs (680 kg) towing capacity.

This new Sportsman comes in Sunset Red, Magnetic Metallic and Pursuit Camo, with prices starting at $9,999 (€7,490).
