2014 MotoGP: Aprilia's Gigi Dall'Igna to Sign with Ducati

Tough luck for Aprilia, as it appears like the top-brain in their MotoGP operations, Gigi Dall'Igna will dress a red work shirt soon. Ducati red, that is.

Italian webzine Motociclisti reports that one of their sources inside Aprilia mentioned that Gigi Dall'Igna will join the Borgo Panigale squad, and will receive almost unlimited power and funds to match in order to bring Ducati back in the front rows of the MotoGP. This means that Dall'Igna will be the new Preziosi.

Underfunded at Aprilia and unable to develop the ART MotoGP machinery any more, Gigi Dall'Igna could start developing a completely new bike for Ducati. The same source also mentions that he will not be the only one leaving the Noale factory, and could bring some of his frame engineers to Ducati, too.

Putting this and the financial power of the VW-Audi Group together, we might see Ducati shining once more in the spotlight in a rather short time. Thinking about a truly blasting Ducati MotoGP machine, let's say a GP15, with plenty of usable power and speed and Crutchlow and Dovi aboard it... Sweet!
