According to new reports, the new Mitsubishi Mirage will make it’s debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show next week.
The sub-compact hatchback’s design is claimed to have been made using extensive wind tunnel research, and thus it is the most aerodynamic subcompact hatch available right now. Also, it is constructed using the Mitsubishi RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) architecture. It features a high-tensile steel monocoque chassis, with a low center of gravity and the overall car’s weight tips the scale at only 845 kg (1,863 lb).

Mitsubishi’s new Mirage will be powered by two DOHC 3-cylinder engines, a 77 hp 1.2-liter and a 68 hp 1.0-liter engine.

The Mirage will replace the Colt model in the countries where it was sold and it’s starting price will be about €10,000 in Europe. This would mean the Mirage could be cheaper than $14,000 in the US, amongst being one of the most afforadble cars on the market.
