As Lamborghini is preparing to retire the Gallardo and make room its successor, the Cabrera, the first is set to gain one last special edition. The vehicle was recently spied while it was out performing a testing session.
While the front fascia, hood, front wings and side skirts are covered in camo, the back of the prototype is exposed. This shows a carbon engine cover and carbon rear wing just those on the Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale. As for the rear apron, this belongs to the latest refresh, the 2013 Gallardo.
We’ll remind you that Lamborghini of America chief operating officer Michael Lock previously explained that the carmaker will offer us a stripped final edition of the Gallardo. He also said that the vehicle will use a manual, as 2013 will mean the end of such transmissions for Lamborghini.
While the 5.2-liter V10 engine may or may not receive more power than the 570 HP unit on the Super Trofeo Stradale, Lamborghini is expected to make serious use of carbon fiber in order for the final result to be considerably lighter.
As for the flavor, this final Gallardo is expected to bear the sign of Lamgorghini's racing division.
