Is this the 2014 Jeep Cherokee? Does it look good or is it just another one of those ugly ducklings that were unfortunate enough to be green-lighted for production?
We really can't decide if we like it or not, and, at the same time, we have no confirmation that what you're seeing is the new Jeep Cherokee. But Jalopnik states otherwise, and they have a lot of pictures to support their claim.
The photos seem to come from inside a production line and show more than one car, so it's likely that this is the actual 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Whatever the case, it's weird looking and at the same time it gathers several styling cues already seen on other production cars.
The Alfa Romeo influence is quite obvious (the body sits on Giulietta's underpinnings), but those narrow headlights, which we think are rather inappropriate, resemble the Nissan Juke. It looks futuristic, but obnoxious as well. The interior was also photographed, but it doesn't look too impressive. The basic things seem to be in there and we have even spotted an electronic handbreak.
We will be scratching our heads for a while, but at least now we know the Cherokee is back!
