The most important addition to the range is the new 2.8-liter Duramax 2 diesel units, that delivers 200 horsepower (147 kW) and up to 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque., making it on par with rival offerings in its class. The mill is connected to a new six-speed manual, but can be had with an updated automatic transmission for better uphill shifting.
New safety features include standard front side impact airbags on LX, LT and LTZ trims, and a rearview camera with Rear Park Assist, the latter available across the SUV range and on the LTZ ute. Chassis control systems such as Trailer Sway Control, Hill Start Assist, and Descent Control are also available, while Holden's MyLink infotainment system, which comes with 7-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth, becomes standard on almost all models.
The 2014 Holden Colorado can tow a 3.5 tonne load, while the Colorado 7 can pull up to 3 tonnes.
