Also known as the Tourneo Connect in Europe, the 2014 Ford Transit Connect Wagon is priced from $25,520 in the United States for the short-wheelbase XLT model. Even though Ford calls it a wagon, this variant of the Transit Connect has more things in common with minivans than commercial vehicles.
The Blue Oval offers the Transit Connect Wagon in two wheelbases and three trim levels. The SWB model comes only in mid-range XLT trim and seats five people, while LWB versions have enough room for seating seven adults.

Fitted with the standard 2.5-liter four-pot gasoline engine rated at 169 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque, the Focus-based 2014 Ford Transit Connect Wagon will return 28 mpg highway and 20 mpg city. There's a more frugal option out there in the form of a turbocharged 1.6-liter EcoBoost unit, but only the XLT model benefits from it.

The XL trim's list of standard equipment includes gray plastic bumpers, vinyl floor and seat coverings, second and third-row seats that fold flat into the floor, power windows, keyless entry and 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers. Even though it costs $25,995, the word "spartan" comes to mind.

Moving on to the $25,520 XLT, Ford charges an extra $2k for the long-wheelbase model and $795 for the aforementioned 1.6-liter EcoBoost mill. As opposed to the XL, this trim level offers bumpers and other body trim in the same color as the exterior paint job, fog lamps, power and heated mirrors, a 4.2-inch infotainment system, textile seats, floor mats, cruise control, reversing camera and a rear-window defroster.

The long-wheelbase only top-spec Titanium commands $29,995 and features automatic headlights, chrome exterior trim, rain sensors for the windshield wipers, two additional speakers for the audio system, power adjustment for the driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, Ford's Sync system, 16-inch aluminum wheels, as well as leather on the steering wheel, shift knob and seats.

Industry-exclusive Ford MyKey technology is available, which can be programmed to limit top speed and audio volume, encourage seat belt use, and restrict incoming calls and texts to a paired cell phone.

“Ford’s all-new Transit Connect Wagon is unlike anything else,” said Minyang Jiang, Transit Connect brand manager, Ford Motor Company. “It drives like a car, has the flexibility of a utility and can haul the payload of a full-size pickup. This new wagon is a great combination of affordability and functionality – a unique global vehicle we’re proud to offer our customers.”
