The Ford prototype testing in Germany under camouflage has finally been revealed as the Ford Ka, as images of a concept Ka have emerged in Brazil.
We're told the production model will stay very close to this car, though we think those sexy headlights will not be headed to production. We would also not expect those big ventilated disks to be used, especially at the back where this car will probably made due with drums.

Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the car is the fact that the Ka is now a 5-door hatch. This makes it more practical, but the rear cargo area looks a bit small. Two engines will be available from launch, a 1.0-liter three-cylinder, basically a non-turbo version of the EcoBoost, rated at 80 PS. There will also be a 1.5-liter with 111 PS that will be compatible with ethanol.

Although no official mention of this is made, the Brazilian Ford Ka will also replace the Ford Figo in India. We're told there will also be a sedan version, although likely not for the European market. The architecture is borrowed from the old Fiesta and they used thinner gage steel to cut weight.

Rivals for the 2014 Ford Ka will include the Chevy Onyx, Hyundai HB20, Fiat Palio, Volkswagen Gol, Toyota Etios and Nissan March (Micra).

We'll remind you that th Ford Ka currently sold in Europe is actually a rebadged Fiat 500. Meanwhile, Brazil still offers the old, first-generation Ka with a facelift.
