2014 Chevrolet SS Production Kicks Off in Australia
“We started building them this week and I saw five or six going down the line on Tuesday,” Holden managing director Mike Devereux told Motoring, adding that Chevrolet estimated it will sell around 10,000 to 15,000 units per year.
“We will build as many as they want and I think Americans are going to love that car,” Devereux added. “The Chevy SS is so important to Mark Reuss, Alan Batey and the Chevy dealer network because they finally now have a car in the showrooms that connects passionate NASCAR fans back to an authentic performance sedan, which Chevy hasn’t had for a long time.”
Powered by the company’s brand new LS3 6.2-liter small-block V8 engine, which delivers 415 horsepower (310 kW) and 415 lb-ft of torque (563 Nm), the 2014 Chevrolet SS has a starting price set at $44,470, including the $995 destination and handling fee.
