Despite the BMW R 1200 GS and the KTM 990/1190 Adventure clearly dominating the big touring bike market, the 2013 Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere is a viable and appealing alternative.
The bike was built to endure the rigors of harsh terrain but it will also provide the rider and passenger with comfortable long-range highway touring. The unique 270-degree crankshaft delivers an awesome feeling bringing back the memories of the big-bore thumpers but without the associated vibrations.

The 2013 model sport ride-by-wire throttle controlling the combustion and fuel mix for better mileage, a fast and punchy power delivery in complete control and safety. The 2013 Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere comes with two engine mappings: the T for touring and the S for aggressive, sporty riding, suitable for a wide variety of pilots.

Adjustable suspensions are backed up by the Unified Brake System and ABS are a perfect match for the traction control features and ensure consistent road contact when accelerating hard or braking firmly. Available starting October 2012 for $14,790 (€11,440) base price.
