Basically, the car they launched in China is a new pair of trousers on a really old lady. The styling is similar to a Jetta’s, though not as refined.
Meanwhile, power comes from a 1.4-liter TSI engine with 122 horsepower and fitted with stop/start and brake energy recuperation. The standard gearbox is a six-speed manual and the DSG dual clutch is also optionally available.
Inside, there’s fake wood on the dash and a big display in the center of the dash, since the Chinese like their cars well equipped.
