2013 Range Rover TV Commercial Rememorates Italian Job Scene

Ah yes, the Range Rover. Many people still say that this SUV can double as a luxury saloon for businessmen on the go. The model has a long history behind it, spanning four generations, beginning with the mark I that entered production in 1970 and stay along until 1996(!).
To promote the next-generation SUV which has already become a sales hit with customers in all corners of the globe, Land Rover UK has just released a new TV advert simply called “*Land Rover's 2013 Next Generation Range Rover,”.

We had trouble figuring out what it’s about until we tried searching the song used as a background. Then we realized they were actually referencing the opening scene from the 1969 movie “The Italian Job”. In it, Roger Beckerman has just left Turin in one amazing supercar, planning the heist of the century until he’s stopped by the Italian mafia. Fortunately, the only obstacle faced by the Range Rover in the Swiss alps is a bunch of hay.

Editor’s note: Matt Monro - On Days Like These… The Italian Job soundtrack is so nice!

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
