2013 Nissan Leaf Acceleration Test from Norway

Norway is probably the country with the highest electric car adoption rate in the world. The smart government there which has made lots of money from offshore pockets of crude oil is actually investing into green energy and heavily subsidizing purchases of electric vehicles.

This acceleration test shows a 2013 Nissan Leaf is quite fast, going from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds. The clip is from the same Espen Hinsch who got the Audi A3 1.4 TFSI to go from 0 to 100 km/h in coincidentally the same time of 10.1 seconds.

The Leaf is powered by an 80 kW electric motor, which is equivalent to 800 big light bulbs of 80 washing machines. This 2013 model is now manufactured in Britain for the European market. We found the way you put it in gear with one finger to be really funny, and the graphics of the dash are interesting as well. This is 100% a Japanese-designed car.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
