2013 Nissan Altima V8 Supercar Tested in Australia [Video]
Now, the car has gotten its first outing on the track at Calder Park Raceway. The team was happy with the results but said there is much to do before they can actually field this beast.
We’ll reming you the Altima is powered by a familiar engine, the Nissan VQ56 V8, which is offered in the Nissan Patrol and Infiniti QX. However, in order to comply with FIA regulations, it’s been reuduced from a 5.6-liter to 5.0-liters.
The car costs about $1.5 million, and besides the engine there is very little in common with the road car.
“Our team has done a tremendous job to design and build an all-new V8 Supercar, including a new engine, in roughly nine months. The Nissan Altima V8 Supercar really is like no other V8 Supercar. Not only does it look spectacular but its unique features and aggressive design ensure that Nissan Motorsport will stand out from the rest of the field,” said team driver Todd Kelly.
