This weekend will see the 12th round of the 2013 MotoGP World Championship taking place around the legendary Silverstone circuit in the UK, the last of the triple-header after the well-deserved summer break. So, let's check the statistics for the Silvesrtone weekend!
Beautiful round number for Andrea Dovizioso: Silverstone will be his 100th start in the MotoGP class. What's even nicer is the fact that Dovi never missed a race since joining the class back in 2008, and scored points in no less than 89 of the so far 99 races he took part in. The same 100th start for Moto3's Efren Vazquez, too.

Marc Marquez' triumph in Brno marked his 49 GP podium. If he makes it on the podium at Silverstone on Sunday, he'll become the youngest rider to reach 50 podiums, at 20 years and 196 days, thus dethroning his team mate Dani Pedrosa, who was 21 years and 162 days old when he went on the podium for the 50th time in his career.

Also, in case Marquez wins at Silverstone, he will be on the 18th position in the all-time GP winners list, together with Kork Ballington and Eddie Lawson, one victory behind Geoff Duke.

This round marks 37 years since the last British rider won a home GP, and that rider was Tom Herron with his 1976 win.

Moto3 rider Maverick Vinales was on the podium in the ten opening races this year. If he makes in in the top three riders on Sunday, he will have beaten Fusto Gresini's 1987 performance. Vinales and Gresini are the only two riders in the 65-year history of GP racing with such an impressive record.

The 2013 season sees Marquez in the lead with 213 points, followed by Dani Pedrosa, 187 and Jorge Lorenzo with 169.
