Mercedes has announced the official pricing for the 2013 SL in Europe, as the new generation of roadster gets ready for its market debut on March 31st.
The base model is the SL 350, powered by a 3.5-liter V6 with 306 PS. In Europe, the recommended retail price for this is €93,534. The only other model that will be available next week is the SL 500, which comes with a 435 hp V8 engine, and will cost €117,096.
The R231 SL-Class Roadster is new from the ground up, and has been built using aluminum for the chassis and body in order to save weight. It features plenty of active safety features and innovations like wiper that have cleaning fluid dispensers going through them instead of using a spray nozzle.
The 3.5-liter V6 model is the most efficient SL ever. It uses just 6.8 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres, making it almost 30 percent more economical than its predecessor. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) 0.3 seconds faster than its predecessor.
