We told you that some complaints had been filed for 2013 Ninja 300's engine stalling when braking or decelerating earlier in June this year. The safety agencies' investigation reached a conclusion and 11,097 bikes are expected back at the dealerships in the US alone for upgrades.
The problem has been traced back at ECU of the Ninja 3000, and it looks like one of the settings is wrong, potentially causing the engine to stop under deceleration, increasing the risk of a crash.

Kawasaki will notify the owners and the recall will begin in mid-August, and the dealers will perform a free ECU replacement with correct units. The affected 2013 Ninja 300 and 300 ABS machines have been manufactured between July 16, 2012 and April 27, 2013, so if you believe yours could be one of them, you can either pay a visit to your dealer or try and find out more from Kawasaki directly. Just call 1-866-802-9381 and mention the NHTSA campaign 13V328000.
