The fourth-generation Honda CR-V was launched in late 2011 for the US market. Soon after, the European model was introduced, which recently received a 1.6-liter diesel engine produced in Britain.
Now, the Malaysian market received the same 2.4-liter four-cylinder as US models, toping the existing 2.0-liter engine choice. The new four-cylinder unit marketed by Honda Malaysia is fitted with DOHC technology and produces 190 hp 7,000rpm and a health 222 Nm of torque.
The SUV is relatively sporty, reaching 0 to 100 km/h in just 10.6 seconds. However, it will face stiff competition from rivals like the Ford Kuga.
The CR-V 2.4L gets standard leather seats, keyless entry, paddles for the automatic gearbox and a 6.1-inch display. Prices will start at MYR 169,800 ($53,350).
