2013 Hennessey Venom GT Gets 1500 HP
Remember how the 2012 Venom GT uses a twin-turbo aluminum-block V8 to deliver 1200 hp? Well, the 2013 model gets a 7.0-liter V8 that delivers no less than 1,500 hp. Customer can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission coming from Ricardo or a new 7-speed paddle shift gearbox.
The new performance specs haven’t been released yet, but we’ll remind you that the outgoing model was a 1,220 kg (2,685) animal that could hit 62 mph in 2.2 seconds and offered a top speed of 272 mph (440 km/h).
The new model year also brings changes in terms of the body. First and foremost, the Lotus headlights were replaced with ones that use an original approach. In fact, the entire front of the car, including the fascia and the hood, as well as the exterior rear-view mirrors, have been redesigned. In addition to that, the car gets new doors with dihedral hinges, while the driver and the passenger will enjoy more headroom thanks to the new bubble roof.
We can only show you a set of renderings, but it shouldn’t be long until we get to see the actual car.
