The NA-spec 2013 Ford Escape, will be offered with three four-cylinder gasoline engines: two turbocharged EcoBoost units, 1.6-liter and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost, as well as a naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter Ti-VCT powerplant.

The most economical version, the one fitted with the downsized 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine, is expected to be more frugal than the current Escape hybrid, which has an EPA rating of 31 mpg highway. At the other end of the performance scale, the 2.0-liter EcoBoost is set to replace the current V6 model, promising to outperform it both in terms of performance and efficiency.

Just like in the current model, customers will be able to choose between front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions.
