2013 F26 BMW X4 Rendering Released, Could Get RWD
However, the switch has translated into huge sales for them, especially in North America, and the Bavarians seem poised to increase their all-road offering to the extreme.
BMW is planning to launch a sporty SAV based on the new X3, which will receive the X4 name. The X4 will use the X3 as a base, but will come with its own personality and body style. The X4 will share the floorpan, drivelines, chassis and other key elements with the X3.
The sports activity vehicle has been approved for production and is likely coming in 2013. Now we have a rendering from the November issue of German magazine Autobild. This spectacular design shows a two-door off-roader with a sleek body.
The front end incorporates the same design elements as the new F30 3-Series sedan. You’ve got a new grille design that joins up and touches the headlights. The foglights are much larger a la Nissan Juke, while the wheel arches are bulged and purposeful.
The vehicle will come with an engine range consisting of four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel powerplants. Just like in the case of the X3, it will be sold as an AWD model, though the aforementioned source says it could also get RWD.
According to the German publication, BMW doesn’t want to put another five-door crossover on the market, so the X4 will be sold exclusively as a three-door.
