Ducati may not the in their best shape as far as the MotoGP program is concerned, but the street segment is doing quite well. Not only has 2012 shows good sales figures, but the Borgo Panigale guys have also brought some nice changes to their line-up, with the new Hypermotard probably being the most thrilling of their machines.
The freshness comes from ditching the old air-cooled engine and replacing it with the liquid-cooled Testastretta 11 L-twin, packing 821cc and 110 HP. We totally liked what we saw in Nicky Hayden's Hypermotard commercial, and we can only hope the real-life experience will be even more thrilling for the casual rider.
If you're a beginner and are in love with the smooth aggressive lines of the new Hypemotard, pay a visit to your local Ducati dealer and ask about the power reduction kit: a 35 kW legal limiter can be installed so you can already enjoy the bike.
A Sachs rear shock is standard, but Ducati has always been a good friend of pro-segment upgrades so there's plenty of premium aftermarket parts out there, waiting to find a place on your bike. The 2013 Ducati Hypermotard will be unveiled in Ronda, Spain this week, most likely making it into the dealerships in March.
