Thanks to a few leaked photos, we now know the way of the future: cars will look like they suck on lemons and run on electricity. This is the production version for the C4 Picasso, already previewed by a concept shown in Geneva earlier.
Just like the new Jeep Cherokee, this C-segment MPV looks like it's been sucking on some really bitter lemons.
Recently previewed by the Technospace concept, the new C4 Picasso has a different type of front end, with high-mounted LED daytime running lights place over almost unnoticeable headlights that sit lower in the bumper.
Since the interior is already known to us, the best thing we can learn from these leaked photos is the way the interior has been designed. Instead of a conventional speedometer and rev counter, the digital display is back and has been placed in the middle of the dash, just like on rival Renault Scenic. This is a trick used by many companies now because it gives you the sensation that you're in a much bigger cabin.
The photos also show a two-tone black and brown interior, wood trim and metallic accents. The steering wheel is from the C4, but the center console is new.
Engine options should include the 1.6 VTi 120, 1.6 THP 155 and two diesels, the 1.6 HDi 110 and 2.0 HDi 150. Further along, hybrid all-wheel drive models are also likely to be included.
The new C4 Picasso should be officially revealed within a few months' time now that it's been leaked.
