2013 Buick Encore Earns High Safety Ratings, Fails Small-Overlap Test [Video]
Buick’s subcompact SUV, sold as Opel Mokka in Europe, successfully completed the NHTSA tests, but scored top marks in only four out of the five IIHS collisions, failing to pass the challenging small-overlap test. The Encore received the lowest possible rating in the aforementioned test and missed on receiving IIHS’ Top Safety Pick Plus rating.
Sold with 10 standard airbags, the 2013 Buick Encore also comes with a wide range of safety features, including front collision warning, lane departure warning, panic brake override and and StabiliTrak electronic stability control among others.
"Safety is a top priority in Buick's product renaissance, as evidenced by receiving these latest safety accolades for Encore," said Gay Kent, GM executive director of Vehicle Safety. "Our customers can have confidence in the safety performance of every Buick for sale today."
