2013 BMW F34 3-Series Gran Turismo Rendering

BMW is building on the success of the 5-Series GT by looking to offer a similar version for the smaller 3-Series. Most likely, the 3-Series Gran Turismo will come with the same powetrains as the regular 3er, but offering better boot space and a fresh design in the midsize segment.

The new 3-Series Gran Turismo will be unveiled towards the end of 2012 as a 2013 model year. Originally, it was slated to arrive in 2011, according to BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer, but if you’re looking to buy this car in the US, you likely shouldn’t be waiting at all.

Compared to the 5-Series hatchback that’s not a hatchback, this will have a lower roofline and sportier lines. BMW is likely pitting this against a member of the Ingolstadt family, the Audi A5 Sportback. As you can see, the 3er GT scores high on the cool meter, with it’s frameless doors.
