2013 BMW 3 Series Touring Launched in Australia
BMW has built this car on a completely new platform developed first for the F30 sedan, which brings more dynamism, enhanced practicality and versatility and even better looks. The new car’s larger interior is extremely versatile and designed to adapt to everything its customers’ modern, active lifestyles can throw at it. For example, the boot easily accommodates almost 500 liters of cargo when the seats are up.
In Australia, the range of engines starts with the 318d, the cheapest and least powerful car. It costs AUD58,900 and is powered by a turbocharged 2-liter inline-4 with 105 kW (143 HP) at 4,000 rpm. This version gets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.2 seconds and averages 4.7 l/100km (50 mpg), with CO2 emissions of 123 g/km.
There are also two more powerful petrol engines available, the 320i with 135 kW (184 HP) costing AU$62,600, and 328i with 180 kW (245 HP) costing AU$69,900.
xDrive is not available, but you can choose between the usual for cosmetic packages, Sport, Luxury and Modern, plus the fake M3 look provided by the M Sport pack.
