Ahead of the anticipated world premier at the 2012 New York Auto Show next month, Mercedes Benz unveiled the changes they’ve made to the GLK for its mid-cycle facelift which will be available this year and will we sold as a 2013 model year car in the US.
Let’s just start by saying that even though the GLK wasn’t an ugly thing before, it’s now jaw-dropping from some angles. In typical Mercedes fashion, no panel has been left unchromed. The design is also much more muscular, thanks to those new headlights cutting straight into the squared off beefy arches. Also noteworthy is the reworked fascia with a big lower grille and LED lights on either side. Mercedes has introduced fresh alloys as well, sized 17-, 19- and 20-inch.
The only petrol model we get is the GLK 350 BlueEFFICIENCY equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 and 306 ps (302 hp). This is the engine we’d have to match the sporty look, but the diesels, ranging in power from 143 PS to 265 PS, are also impressive.
