As a fresh reminder, the 650i variant is fitted with a 4.4l V8 power unit with BMW TwinPower Turbo and direct fuel injection, that delivers 400 hp and 600 Nm (450 lb.ft.) of torque. With this unit, the car is capable of a 0-62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) time of 4.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). As for the black-panel instrument cluster of the new BMW 6 Series Convertible, the navigation system, telephone and entertainment functions are operated using the standard-fitted iDrive control system, whose Control Display boasts an innovative design.
The on-board monitor takes the form of a freestanding display for the first time in the new BMW 6 Series Convertible. The standard 7-inch (17.8cm) screen can be upgraded to 10.2 inches (25.9cm) by ordering the optional Navigation system Professional, and the larger screen has a high-quality galvanised chrome surround.
In the US, BMW will offer the 650i Convertible from this spring at a starting price of $91,375 (including destination and handling fees).
