What we have here can be classified in the "looks true, but we're not sure it is" category. French website Automobile Magazine released today two photos portraying the future generation BMW 3 Series, in fact two CGIs which are supposed to showcase the AvantGarde design expected to come with the new car.
Although, we say again, these photos may not portray exactly how the next 3 Series will look like, we reckon they come pretty close. For refference, you may try and make the comparison by yourself by viewing the spyshots of the 2012 3 Series we showed you last November.
According to initial rumors, together with official information unofficially leaked by the German carmaker, the future 3 Series will boast a larger kidney grille, with a new design. At the rear, it is all about retaining classic lines, with the 3er retaining the L-shaped rear lights.
Engine wise, there's a lot of speculation surrounding the entire BMW line-up of the future, not only the 3 Series. For this one, BMW is said to be planning the introduction of smaller displacement, turbocharged 3-cylinder and 4-cylinder engines, with outputs ranging from 122 to 240 hp.
In January this year, the German carmaker revealed the facelifted versions of the BMW 3 Series Coupe and Convertible, the ones to carry the banner until the next generation replaces them in 2012.
As it happened until now, the Coupe and Cabrio will be somewhat different in 2012 model year than the regular sedan, with the convertible version rumored to keep the folding hardtop.
