Subaru’s American arm has released the pricing for its performance vehicles, the 2011 Impreza WRX and WRX STI models.

Scheduled to hit showroom floors in September, the 2011 WRX, which uses an extra-muscular exterior package, can be yours starting from $25,495 (the same price is used for both the four-door and the five-door models). As for the top of the range WRX STI model, this starts at $33,995 for the four door model, with the hatchback coming with a $1,000 premium.

The aggressive body style changes for WRX include new front & rear bumpers, wide front fenders and quarter panels, and a WRX logo side fender badge. The sedan adds a rear chrome satin finish and quad tailpipe outlets. The WRX receives new gunmetal gray alloy wheels paired with wider summer-performance tires,” stated the press release.

The new pricing of the WRX means that the hatch’s price has remained unchanged, while the sedan comes with a $500 increase.

The Subaru performance leader, the WRX STI, returns as a 4-door sedan – along with the 5-door for the 2011MY. In addition to its wide-body style, the WRX STI sedan also brings back its signature impressive rear trunk spoiler,” stated the press release.

The 305 hp WRX STI has also received a new trim level for 2011. Called the Limited four-door, this has a starting price of $37,345 and offers a leather upholstery, 18-inch BBS alloy rims, power moonroof and fog lights. The Limited five-doors model starts at $35,995.

Dual clutches are for lazy people who want a fast car but don't want to be bothered with actually having to drive the car. That and I can guarantee you a Subaru dual clutch would have a pretty low limit in terms of power. Currently the PDK is the best out there in terms of power holding, and its not terribly high. It would most likely be around the VW DSG which is about 450hp, and in a car like this, many people will have it over that in a second with a few mods.

mustafaluigi ("Dual clutches are for lazy people who want a fast car but don't want to be bothered with actually having to drive the car."): And cars are for lazy people that want to move from one place to another and don't want to be bothered with actually having to move by themselves, following the same logic. Other than that, a good dual-clutch gearbox (and other automatics) allow the user to retain the complete control of the gear shifts, being the main difference that you can use more accesible, faster and accurate controls to do it, thus gaining a new edge at controlling the car. That, and the added possibility of the AI shifting gears for you whenever it happens that you don't want to, if it does, but in my POV that's a secondary advantage.
