French manufacturer Renault today took the wraps off its latest family saloon, the Latitude, scheduled to make its public debut at the Moscow Auto Show in August. Europeans will also get the chance to take a closer look to the car at the similar event in Paris in October.

Based on the same architecture as the new SM5, which was recently launched in the Korean market, Renault Latitude is 4.89 m long, 1.83 m wide and 1.49 m high and boasts what some may call a racing design.

“Based on an architecture that is widely acclaimed for its strength and efficiency, Renault's new saloon rounds off the brand's high-end range and will appeal to customers who are looking for status, quality and comfort in all its forms,” Renault praises the Latitude.

Some of the initial details revealed by the manufacturer include features like bi-Xenon adaptive headlights, LED taillights, a dual-mode air ionizer with double fragrance diffuser, triple-zone climate control, a massaging seat for the driver, a Bose Premium sound system and the Renault hands-free card, among others.

“Occupants benefit from a comfortable, silent ride, as well as a particularly precise chassis and a choice of powerplants that are sure to give it a decisive edge over its rivals,” the company statement reads.

The manufacturer left us just guessing what it has hidden under the hood of the new Latitude, as it said nothing on the engine options or equipment levels. What we did say, however, is that the car will meet the demand of the different markets.

The 2011 Renault Latitude is expected to go on sale this autumn in Asia, Africa, Russia, Turkey, Gulf, Australia and Mexico. Pricing details are to be released closer to the market launch.
