2011 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Vaquero US Pricing Announced
The North American division of Kawasaki has recently announced pricing of the 2011 Vulcan 1700 Vaquero, with the all-new bagger coming with a MSRP of $16,499, and available in two color schemes: Ebony or Candy Fire Red.
The Vaquero is powered by a 1,700cc, SOHC, liquid-cooled V-twin engine, delivering 108 lb.ft. (146 Nm) of torque. The bike’s touring characteristics are emphasized by the electronic cruise control system, conveniently operated from the right handlebar and usable at any speed between 30 and 85 mph (48 and 137 km/h) in any of the top four gears.
Additional touring virtues are made possible through the engine’s six-speed transmission with overdriven 5th and 6th gears.
Visually, the frame-mounted fairing is lower than a traditional windshield or full fairing, yet still cutting a decent-sized hole in oncoming atmosphere. Also, lockable side-loading hard bags are styled to highlight the bike’s long, low look. The twin tapered mufflers maximize saddlebag capacity, and the low seat height with sporty one-piece seat contributes to long, low classic cruiser look.
Unique “muscle car” styled instrumentation keeps the rider fully informed, while the audio system has FM, AM and WX and is compatible with iPod, XM tuner, or CB radio.
