CGI: 2011 Ford Focus

What we have here are the first illustrations showing the upcoming 2011 Ford Focus, in case there will be one taking into account all the recent speculation surrounding Ford and Focus in particular. However, as you can see for yourselves in the adjacent photos, the 2011 Focus would look fairly appealing, with lots of upgrades over the current generation.

First of all, the overall appearance is much more aerodynamic, with the 2-door model now boasting a sportier and high-performance look. The front fascia would be almost entirely redesigned, with extended headlights and closer to the A pillar, redesigned grille and restyled front bumper, now housing the fog lamps placed on the outer edges. New air intakes, also included in the front bumper, would ensure the cooling of the upgraded engine, likely to be particularly aimed at reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

At the rear, that car would be somehow similar with the current model, with extended tail lights and a redesigned rear bumper boating the double-exhaust system.

Although it's not yet clear whether the 2011 Ford Focus would be the one to rely on this engine, recent rumors claim the future version of Focus will be especially aimed at increasing efficiency, with a fuel consumption of around 40 mpg. This means the new Focus would improve the current figures by up to 23 percent.

And because we're talking about the current-generation Focus, the American flavor is powered by a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that achieves a fuel consumption rating of 35 mpg in combined cycle.

Details are pretty sketchy at this time so we're still waiting for some official specs sourced from Ford to find out whether there's actually some truth behind these illustrations.
