2011 Ford Explorer to Be Unveiled on Monday

Ford has recently taken the first places in the top of companies that like to make excessive use of the teasing pathway when releasing a new vehicle.

We are obviously talking about the automaker’s infinite list of facebook teasers and bits of tech info offered for the 2011 Explorer SUV, which has constantly been “tickling” the automotive world for quite some time now.

However, Ford has finally decided to reveal the car. The 2011 Explorer SUV will be unveiled on Monday in nine U.S. cities.

At the top of the car’s presentation events we will find a ceremony held in Herald Square, New York, where the SUV will be presented by Ford’s CEO Alan Mulally together with special guest Mike Rowe (from the Discovery Channel’s “Dirty Jobs” show).

Ford will simultaneously unveil the car in eight other cities, with the list including Chicago, Dallas, Dearborn (Michigan), Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. However, various media reports indicate that the events will only be attended by pre-invited guests only.

Ford has chosen to re-invent the Explorer, with the SUV set to offer a 30 percent increase in efficiency compared to the outgoing model.

The company’s engineers have worked hard to improve all areas that can help the vehicle reach the aforementioned goal, so expect the next Explorer to come with top aerodynamics and tip the scales lower. Another element that makes the 2011 Explorer more efficient is the fact that it is using the platform from a passenger car (the Taurus model).
