2011 Ducati Days Highlights
On day one riders arrived at Silverstone, spending the day learning the national and international circuits with help from coaches from California Superbike School.
The rest enjoyed the goodies brought there by the Ducati Museum, enchanting visitors with over 30 bikes from across Ducati history. There was also a display of cars from Mercedes AMG and the Mercedes Vito Sport-X Dualiner. Other stands and displays included Spyder Club, Ohlins, R&G, Moto-Icons, Bike Trac, Bianchi bicycles and many more.
Maria Costello MBE rode the Diavel and James Haydon the 848 race bike. Unfortunately due to illness Carl Fogarty was unable to attend.
Seminars featured special guest Neil Spalding who gave an insight into the story of Valentino Rossi and Ducati, as well as Chris Witter from Ohlins, Steve Moore of Moto Rapido and Tim Maccabee, MD of Ducati UK.
The highlight of the day for many was the Ducati parade lap where an estimated 150 riders turned out to ride the MotoGP track. Led by a Mercedes AMG and closely followed by Paul Smart, Scott Smart, Jeremy McWilliams, James Haydon, Maria Costello and many more, the parade lined up firstly on the grid and then again outside the new wing-pits for two photo opportunities.
Fans are now looking forward to the next Ducati Days event next year.
